PHAS and IHME Join Forces to Advance Research and Training on Global Burden of Disease

The Faculty of Public Health and Allied Health Science (PHAS) at the Praboromarajchanok Institute of Health Workforce Development (PBRI) has initiated an exciting collaboration with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington to advance research and training in the field of Global Burden of Disease (GBD). A productive academic discussion took place between Associate Professor Wittaya Yoosuk, Dean of PHAS, and Professor Mohsen Naghavi, a leading expert from IHME. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for joint research and the development of specialized training courses on GBD methodologies, aimed at enhancing public health capacity in Thailand and the Southeast Asia region. During the discussion, both institutions highlighted their complementary strengths. IHME shared its globally recognized expertise in GBD analytics, while PHAS presented its commitment to addressing local and regional health challenges through evidence-based research and education.
