The 15th International Conference on Public Health among the Greater Mekong Sub-Regional (GMS) Countries was held at Kunming Medical University, Kunming, China bringing together public health academic institutions from Thailand, Vietnam, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Cambodia, and China.
GMS promotes regional collaboration to address key public health challenges through education, research, and policy advocacy.
During the conference, Professor Dr. Surasak Taneepanichskul, Chairman of Praboromarajchanok Institute Council, Professor Dr. Vichai Tienthavorn, President of the Praboromarajchanok Institute, and Professor Dr. Wanicha Chuenkongkaew, Vice President of Praboromarajchanok Institute participated in the GMS meeting. At this conference, Professor Dr. Vichai Tienthavorn also received International Outstanding Award 2025 for “Excellence in Health System Leadership” in recognition of contributions to public health. The Institute also proposed to serve as the host of the GMS Conference in 2027.
Associate Professor Dr. Witaya Yoosook, Dean of Faculty of Public Health and Allied Health Sciences, Praboromarajchanok Institute, and faculty members attended the conference, extended their congratulations, presented research findings, and demonstrated the Institute’s strong commitment to academic excellence and regional public health collaboration.
